Bill Mulcrone thrives on transitioning veterans into the construction trades as the Helmets to Hardhats Midwest Regional Manager. In 1999, Bill began an apprenticeship with Ironworkers Local 1 in Chicago, IL where he eventually became a Journeyman Ironworker. During his time at Local 1, Bill worked on several schools, hospitals, bridges, and high-rises in the Chicagoland area. In 2000, Bill graduated from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York with a degree in Political Science.
Bill started his position with Helmets to Hardhats in 2006. As the Midwest Regional Manager, Bill works on the ground to serve as the primary point of contact for H2H’s target population: transitioning military service members, National Guard, Reservists, construction industry trade organizations, and employers.
Bill resides in the Chicago area near all the projects he constructed as an Ironworker. He understands the pride a tradesman can have as they look up at a building, bridge, or structure and say, “I built that.” Bill is a hardworking family man with a wife and kids. He is living proof of what apprenticeship can do and build in someone as they in turn get to physically build the world around them.
